Paola Baldovin
Born in Milan in 1956 he is Partner, Technical Director since 2000, and President of Geotecna Progetti.
Graduated from Politecnico of Milan in 1981, he is registered in Milan Order of Engineers, certified Project Manager from AICQ-SICEV and qualified to carry out the function of safety coordinator during the design phase and/or during the execution of the works.
The sectors of expertise are: hydraulic and hydraulic constructions, geotechnics, underground structures, seismic analyses.
He has over forty years of experience in the design and technical assistance during the construction phase of engineering works, including over 60 dams, 20 hydropowers and pumped storage plants, over 250 km of hydraulic, railway, road and subway tunnels.
He has coordinated the seismotectonic studies and seismic verifications of several dams and related ancillary works, developed in compliance with Italian legislation and the main international codes and recommendations.
Since the 1990s he has been involved in the management of large infrastructural and structural projects, both in Italy and around the world, often located in disadvantaged geographical areas.
He has taken part to international due diligences and expertizes for the World Bank.
He is member of the Chairmanship Committee of the Italian Section of ITCOLD and represents Italy in the international working groups of ICOLD M (Operation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation) and T (Emerging Challenges and Prospective).
Furthermore, he is member also of numerous professional cultural associations, including SIG (Italian Society of Tunnels), AGI (Italian Geotechnical Association) and Idrotecnica (Italian Hydraulic Association).
Speaker at conferences and workshops, he is author of articles and over 40 technical-scientific papers.
